• Description Conplast WL is a dark brown liquid based onlignosulphonates which mixes readily with water andtherefore disperses evenly.Conplast WL waterproofs by improving the quality of theconcrete or mortar. It reduces the water demand for requiredworkability and minimises segregation and bleeding. Thusit is more efficient compared to traditional powderwaterproofers as its use results in two fold improvement ofconcrete or mortar
• Mortar:    Conplast  WL  is  ideal  for  use  with  all  sand/cementmortars  where  it  is  required  to  reduce  permeability  to  aminimum.
• Concrete:  Conplast WL is recommended for all general massconcrete  work  where,  due  to  harsh  aggregates,  difficulty  ofcompaction or mix control, the risk of porosity and permeabilitymust  be  minimised.  Eg.  Basements,  bund  walls,  tanks,balcony, floor and roof slabs.
• N.B.: The  minimum  dosage  is  125ml    and  the  maximum  is200ml  per  50kgs  of  cement.    If  maximum  dosage  is  used  aminimum of 15% water should be reduced to ensure no lossin  strength.    Site  trials  shall  be  carried  out  to  arrive  at  theoptimum  dosage.The  required  quantity  of  Conplast  WL  is  measured  and  stirinto the first or second bucket of water.Conplast WL water mixture shall be added to the concrete ormortar  and  mixed  thoroughly.Mixing shall be continued and  further  water shall be addeduntil  the  required  workability  is  obtained.

Uses Nitoseal PU40 is suitable for sealing joints in concrete, brickwork, blockwork, precast panel joints, stone cladding, perimeter sealing around doors and windows, and non-trafficked floor joints.

• Description Nitoseal PU40 is a one part, low modulus gun-grade elastomeric sealant based on polyurethane technology. Nitoseal PU40 may be applied to joints between 5 and 35mm wide. To minimise stress imposed on the joint sealant, all moving joints should be designed to an optimum width to depthratio of 2:1 with an overriding minimum depth 5mm for non-porous surfaces and 10mm for porous surfaces. For joint widths exceeding 35mm, please contact your local Fosroc Technical Service Department.
• Application instructions
• Joint surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from frost. Remove all dirt, laitance, loose material and foreign matter. Remove all rust, scale and protective lacquers from metal surfaces. Removal can be achieved by rigorous wire brushing, grinding or grit blasting. When resealing, the existing sealant must be removed from the joint and the arris cleaned back to sound clean concrete.All debris should be removed. Every expansion joint filler must be checked to ensure it is tightly packed and no gaps or voids exists at the base of the sealing slot before positioning a bond breaker. The use of bond breaker is not required in expansion joints containing cellular polyethylene joint filler such as Hydrocell XL, Backing rod or Expandafoam. For construction or contraction joints a bond breaker tape or back-up strip must be used. Where a particularly neat finish is required, mask the face edges of the joint before sealing and remove immediately after tooling is completed.
• Priming
• A primer is not normally required. In joints subjected to high movement or where intermittently immersed during service, Fosroc Primer 7 (porous substrates, drying time 30 minutes) or Fosroc Primer 4 (non-porous substrates, drying time 2-5 minutes) is recommended. Prime the joint face using a clean, dry brush. Avoid over application of primer, to prevent causing puddles in the bottom of the joint. If a primed joint on porous substrate is left unsealed for more than 4 hours, the primer should be removed by grit blasting or grinding and the joint re-primed; on non-porous substrate, joint should be re-primed. (For further advice on priming required please contact your local Fosroc Technical Service Department).

• The  substrate  surface  must  be  free  from  oil,  grease  or  any loosely adherent material. If the concrete surface is defective or has laitence, it must be cut back to a sound base.  Bolt holes and  fi xing  pockets must be blown clean of any dirt or debris.
• Pre-soaking Several hours prior to placing, the concrete substrates should be saturated with fresh water.  Immediately before grouting takes place any free water should be removed with particular care being taken to blow out all bolt holes and pockets.
•   Base plate
• It is essential that this is clean and free from oil, grease or scale.  Air pressure relief holes should be provided to  allow venting of any isolated high spots.
• Levelling shims
• If these are to be removed after the grout has hardened, they should be treated with a thin layer of grease.FormworkThe  formwork  should  be  constructed  to  be  leakproof.    This can be achieved by using foam rubber strip or mastic sealant beneath the constructed formwork and between joints.In some cases it is practical to use a sacrifi cial semi-dry sand and  cement  formwork.   The  formwork  should  include  outlets for pre-soaking.Unrestrained surface areaThis  must  be  kept  to  a  minimum.  Generally  the  gap  width between  the  perimeter  formwork  and  the  plate  edge  should not exceed 150mm on the pouring side and 50mm on the op-posite side. It is advisable, where practical, to have no gap at the fl ank sides.

Base concrete
 The base concrete should have a minimum cement content of300 kg/m3. The concrete mix should be designed to minimisesegregation and control bleeding, although some limited bleedis desirable to ensure sufficient moisture is available to wetout the Nitoflor Hardtop when it is first applied.The use of water reducing admixtures from the FosrocConplast* range is strongly recommended in order to achievea water:cement ratio below 0.55.
